Omaha Public Schools (OPS) and the University of Nebraska-Omaha (UNO) recently updated their agreement for the Teacher Scholar Academy, providing substantial financial support to aspiring educators. Under the revised agreement, selected students in the program will receive $5,000 in scholarship funds per semester. T
he Teacher Scholar Academy at UNO is designed to assist students pursuing careers in teaching, ensuring that, upon graduation, each student secures a position within OPS, Nebraska’s largest school district. The primary objective of the academy is to address the teacher shortage and create more accessible opportunities for students interested in the field of education.
The application process is open to all, with 28 recipients chosen annually through the 2027-2028 school year.
