The trial for Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones, facing a sexual assault lawsuit, has been delayed. A Dallas County district court judge rescheduled the proceedings following allegations that Jones forcibly kissed and touched a woman without consent after a Cowboys game in 2018 at AT&T Stadium. Jones’ legal team has consistently denied the accusations, labeling the lawsuit as “frivolous.”
While the trial was initially set for March 18 after approval from the state’s Supreme Court, a new date remains undetermined. Jones is also grappling with a separate lawsuit where a 27-year-old woman claims he is her biological father. A judge has upheld a decision for Jones to undergo a paternity test, with his legal team challenging the constitutionality of the Texas law requiring genetic testing.
In a previous lawsuit, the woman sought to void a legal agreement between her mother and Jones, claiming financial support in exchange for silence on his paternity. The 81-year-old Jones and his wife, Gene, married in 1963, and this legal saga adds complexity to the already intricate dynamics of the Jones family, deeply connected to the Dallas Cowboys organization.
