In a sobering courtroom resolution, Jeffrey Beaman of Cedar Rapids is set to serve a substantial 25-year prison sentence following charges of sexually abusing an 8-year-old girl. Beaman, having opted for a plea deal, admitted guilt to one count of Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree – 1st Offense and one count of Lascivious Acts with a Child – Solicit Child for Sex Act.
The sentencing, delivered on November 15, 2023, saw the judge impose a 25-year term for Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree, along with an additional 5 years for the charge of Lascivious Acts with a Child. Importantly, these sentences will run concurrently, underlining the severity of the charges.
Adding a layer to the gravity of the situation, Beaman’s parole eligibility stipulates that he must serve 70% of the 25-year sentence before being considered for release.
