In a precautionary move, Hy-Vee has announced a voluntary recall of 12oz. glass jars of its branded Turkey gravy. The recall is initiated by Seneca Foods, the supplier, as the product was found to actually contain beef gravy, posing a potential risk for consumers with soy allergies.

The labeling issue also means the product may contain a soy allergen, which is not declared on the label. Seneca Foods is actively retrieving the mislabeled Hy-Vee Turkey Gravy from its distribution system.

It’s important to note that the recall is specific to the Hy-Vee Turkey Gravy product sold by Hy-Vee, and no other retailers are affected. Individuals with soy allergies are at risk of severe allergic reactions if they consume the product.

As of now, Seneca has not received any reports of illness related to the mislabeled product. Consumers who have purchased this product are advised to return it to the point of purchase for a full refund. For additional information, concerned customers may contact Seneca Foods Consumer Affairs at 1-800-872-1110.
