Anthony McNeese, a 39-year-old Cedar Rapids resident, has been sentenced to federal prison after pleading guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance. The conviction stems from his involvement in distributing over ten pounds of methamphetamine.
In a series of events, McNeese discarded approximately 400 grams of ice methamphetamine from his vehicle as he attempted to evade law enforcement in November 2020. Following this incident, he acquired an additional 10 pounds of methamphetamine from his supplier and proceeded to redistribute it in late November and early December of the same year. On December 7th, 2020, authorities conducted a search of McNeese’s vehicle, leading to the recovery of an additional 37 grams of methamphetamine.
As a result of the sentencing, McNeese will serve 251 months in federal prison and undergo a 5-year term of supervised release.
